Ashlie founded Magenta HR after realising the HR difficulties friends and family were often faced with when running their own small to medium sized businesses.
Ashlie began her career by completing a graduate management training programme with Marks & Spencer where she specialised in HR and held various HR management appointments throughout the UK. She then gained national and international HR experience whilst working for Marakon Associates, a strategic management consultancy, and BNP Paribas. Ashlie led the HR function for a large Scottish law firm for a number of years before working as a consultant to them, providing strategic HR input to the board.
Ashlie understands that many of the HR issues organisations now face are difficult to deal with. They can cause a huge headache, not to mention the drain on time and resources, and Magenta's style and approach creates a warm and reassuring environment, ensuring clients always feel well supported, whatever the issue.
Ashlie feels strongly about the importance of integrating corporate social responsibility within business and Magenta HR supports a number of local charities with pro bono HR support. Ashlie has held a number of board appointments with varoous charities and is a Founding Trustee of School Lunches for Kamuli, a charity in Uganda helping children maximise their potential by ensuring they receive a nutritional meal in their place of education.
Ashlie is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, a member of The British Psychological Society and is a qualified workplace mediator holding Interpersonal Mediation Practictioners Certificatation with UK Mediation. Ashlie is Assistant to the Court of The Royal Merchant's Company of Edinburgh and a member of the Education Liaison and Enterprise Committee. Ashlie is also a Governor of Erskine Stewart's Melville Schools.
Outside of work Ashlie loves to cook and spend time with family and friends.
Linda has over 7 years HR experience and has held roles in both the professional services and financial services arena. Her roles to date include HR Advisor at Tods Murray LLP, HR Consultant at Scottish Widows and HR Consultant at Lindsays WS.
Linda brings with her a variety of generalist HR experience including policy development, recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management and employment legislation. She is a Graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and has an MA (HONS) in Management with Human Resource Management.
Linda is a flexible, resourceful and self-motivated HR professional with strong customer focus and highly developed interpersonal skills that enable her to work with staff at all levels. She brings clarity of thought to her work and isn’t afraid to take the lead and offer direction. Linda adopts a fair and consistent approach and is committed to supporting organisations with the development and application of best practice HR processes.
Linda’s approachable manner allows her to establish client relationships quickly and effectively, tailoring practical solutions to fit the individual needs of each client.
Prior to this Denise worked at Director and senior manager level for two large U.S. multinational’s. Denise has gained international HR experience in Ireland and Holland working with large multi-national workforces. With several years in local government Denise has substantial public sector and trade union experience.
Denise has developed the skills and abilities to grasp issues quickly, gain respect, and support businesses to progress matters to a satisfactory outcome. With a deep understanding and knowledge of a number of industry sectors Denise provides innovative, tailored advice and solutions. By encouraging a collaborative approach, Denise strives to balance the achievement of business goals while keeping employees on side.
Denise is a graduate member of the CIPD, has an MSc in Industrial Relations and a LLB (Hons) Degree. She is an accredited Mediator with the highly acclaimed TCM Group, proficient in drafting and negotiating Settlement Agreements, and highly skilled and experienced in the ACAS early conciliation process.
Anna has spent 15 years providing HR managerial support for large corporations including Samsung, Lexmark and Johnson & Johnson. During this time, Anna has developed extensive experience developing and implementing best practice in employee relations, employee legislation, policy development, performance management and recruitment and selection. Anna is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and a member of the British Psychological Society. She is also a professional coach.
Anna’s career began as a graduate with the Korean-owned, Samsung Corporation, where she specialised in HR and held various roles throughout thebusiness, including its FMCG manufacturing and management service sectors. She then led the HR function for the Scottish arm of the US-owned Lexmark International, providing strategic HR input at board level.
More recently, she provided Johnson & Johnson with interim HR managerial services, supporting six strategic business units. She is currently working with clients in the construction and leisure industries and coaching a number of corporate and private clients.
Anna is a highly organised and dedicated HR professional with a proactive and professional approach. She is an effective communicator with strong influencing skills and has the ability to resolve complex situations under pressure.
In her spare time, Anna plays tennis at her local club and enjoys films with friends.
Gayle has worked with a variety of international organisations over the past 17 years, including those in the Manufacturing, Financial Services and Media sectors. Operating at a HR Leadership level, she has developed extensive experience in all aspects of HR but particularly Organisation Design and implementation, integrating and restructuring multi site senior teams and working alongside business leaders to design and deliver commercially tailored solutions. Delivering core HR interventions, in areas such as Performance Management and Employee Relations are also areas where she has a depth of practical knowledge. Gayle is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.
Gayle’s career began as a graduate with BAE Systems, where she had a variety of HR and Marketing roles, laterally leading an HR Shared Service team. She then moved to RBS where she worked in a number of different divisions of the business, primarily in HR Business Partner roles with her final position being HR Leader for an international business employing over 2000 people. At CNBC, a division of the NBC Universal organisation, Gayle was HR Director for EMEA, responsible for all HR activity across the region and laterally for restructuring the Non-US business into one international management structure.
Most recently, Gayle worked with Standard Life on an interim basis, supporting their Strategic Corporate Centre.
Gayle is an outgoing, pragmatic and organised HR professional, who has worked successfully in many different environments, cultures and sectors. She is a strong communicator and relationship builder, able to work well with clients to deliver solutions which address situations and any underlying causes.
Emma began her nursing career in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary as a staff nurse in the cardiac surgery intensive care unit, which resulted an inspired foundation to her nursing skills. This experience would prove invaluable for the varied acute nursing positions that she went on to gain including a period of time nursing in Vancouver, Canada.
Over the past fourteen years, Emma has worked exclusively in Occupational Health both in the private and public sector, including the NHS and Royal London insurance and for the past three years as Occupational Health and Wellbeing Manager at Edinburgh Airport Ltd.
Emma delivers a committed and passionate business focused approach to managing the varying aspects of health and wellbeing in the workplace.
Emma has faced challenging management resolutions in relation to changing business outcomes and has achieved success in ensuring that employee welfare and commitment to health is identified in accordance with the management decision process.
Emma provides a caring, constructive and where possible, open and inclusive approach to clinical case management, ensuring a commitment by both the employee and the employer to the positive outcomes of vocational rehabilitation and clinical case management.

Gillian, the founder of Full Circle Development, Gillian’s drive towards excellence in training and development has seen her company rapidly become a UK market leader in leadership and management development, coaching, and coach training.
Her management and leadership development work is recognised as innovative and empowering, evoking awareness and actions that lead to success. She has supported the growth of hundreds of organisations, working in partnership to identify key areas of organisational development.
Prior to Full Circle Development, Gillian was Coaching & Development Director for New U Coaching, she also worked for 12 years within Human Resources, specialising in training, organisational development and coaching.
Gillian has been instrumental in creating culture change within a number of organisations from concept and consulting through to completion and sustainability. She has designed, led and implemented methods and development programmes to evolve a managers management and leadership style, with a clear focus on increasing performance, contribution and motivation.
Gillian is a panel member of the Evolutionary Institute and is a member of the International Coach Federation and the Association for Coaches. She is associate member of the CIPD and the Institute of Directors. Gillian also holds an ACC Credential with the ICF.
After studing a Science degree with Management Studies, Val has gained extensive experience heading up the finance departments across a number of smaller businesses. Val provides outsourced Financial and Bookkeeping support for Magenta HR as well as a number of other organisations, including Magenta HR clients. Val's experience of business, proactivity and attention to detail provides reassurance to the management team and she plays an integral function within the business.
Alan, the founder and owner of Destino HR & Coaching www.destino.org.uk a boutique HR Consultancy, Executive and Life Coaching business that helps SME and individuals alike to achieve their full potential.
Alan operates with integrity, pragmatism and a strong commercial focus and is passionate about the role that HR takes commercially in building the capability of organisations to achieve their strategic and operational objectives.
He has built expertise in Transformational Change, Leadership, Coaching, Mentoring, Employee Engagement, Talent Management, Succession Planning, High Performance Working and Performance Management. Kay has worked as an HR professional for over 20 yes and is experienced in both strategic and operational HR management. Kay has a very personable approach, developing relationships quickly, and is extremely knowledgeable, demonstrating a consistent record of implementing best practice principles leading to performance enhancement, customer satisfaction, business continuity and maximised profit.
Kay has worked as an independent HR Consultant since 2009, prior to that she was the divisional HR Manager for Lorne Stewart Plc., a construction company, where she identified, developed and implemented corporate and Divisional HR strategies. Kay also worked as an HR Consultant and Manager for Ceridian for a number of years, gaining expensive experience of employment compliance and TUPE Transfer during her time there. Kay works with the Magenta team to provide HR support to clients across the UK.
